Camp du Domaine or Au Paradis des Campeurs: which campsite to choose on the French Riviera?
Two campsites on the Var coast, two opposite holidays. Camp du Domaine, in Bormes-les-Mimosas, is a large 5-star family estate of 45 hectares right by the water: direct beach access, kids’ clubs, sports and evening entertainment. Au Paradis des Campeurs, in Les Issambres, is a human-scale 4-star campsite: calm, leafy, open all year, dog-friendly, a 2-minute walk from La Gaillarde beach. The right choice depends on the kind of holiday you’re after.

Where are the two campsites?
Both campsites line the same Mediterranean, but in two different areas of the Var coast: Au Paradis des Campeurs in Les Issambres, on the French Riviera towards Fréjus / Saint-Raphaël; Camp du Domaine in Bormes-les-Mimosas, on the Cap Bénat peninsula, further west along the Maures coast. Around an hour’s drive separates the two (about 56 km, 1 hr 10).
How to choose between them?
Are you after peace and quiet or entertainment?
For kids’ clubs, sport, evening shows and water sports right by your pitch, Camp du Domaine. To sleep in peace, away from music and engines, in clear, calm water, Au Paradis des Campeurs.
Travelling with a dog?
Au Paradis des Campeurs lives up to its “dog paradise” nickname: forest nearby, a dog-friendly beach 100 m away, and pets welcome both on pitches and in rentals. At Camp du Domaine, dogs are allowed on camping pitches but not in most rentals.
Travelling off-season?
Au Paradis des Campeurs is open all year; Camp du Domaine closes from 1 November to Easter.
Camping in a tent, van or motorhome?
Both campsites welcome independent campers. Au Paradis des Campeurs offers them genuine pitches (up to Grand Confort Luxe with private sanitary facilities) in an intimate 7-hectare setting; Camp du Domaine has a great many pitches, some right by the water, on a vast 45-hectare estate that is livelier.
