Chez Marcel is on the Les Issambres coast, Les Clos inland, in Bagnols-en-Forêt, 300 m above sea level. They are about 27 km apart, a 36-minute drive. From Les Clos, the nearest beaches are in Fréjus, about 20 km away.
How to choose?
What budget for a night for two?
Chez Marcel is cheaper on every date when both are open: €18 to €24 from April to September, electricity included, against €23 to €28 at Les Clos, or €1 to €6 less a night. Without electricity, the Les Clos package (€18 to €22) is on a par with Chez Marcel’s rate, electricity included. Tourist tax is extra at both, and booking at Les Clos costs a €20 fee.
Travelling out of season?
The Chez Marcel aire is open all year round, at €16 a night from October to mid-December. The Les Clos campsite is only open from 1 April to 30 September.
Need shade or space?
Les Clos pitches are shaded by pines and oaks; the campsite publishes neither their size nor a maximum length, so ask when you book. Chez Marcel’s are 30 to 32 m², in the sun, for vehicles up to 7.5 m long; beyond that, the Au Paradis des Campeurs campsite has pitches up to 13 m.
The sea or the pool?
For the sea, Chez Marcel: La Gaillarde beach is a 1-minute walk away. From Les Clos, allow half an hour’s drive to the beaches of Fréjus; the campsite does have a free pool, and woods around the village for walks.
