Chez Marcel is on the coast at Les Issambres; the Collobrières aire is in the heart of the Maures hills. They are about 35 km apart as the crow flies: 47 km and an hour’s drive via Grimaud and the D14. From Collobrières, the nearest beach is L’Argentière, in La Londe-les-Maures, a 40-minute drive away.

The Collobrières aire is free. In return, there is nothing on site: no electricity, no water, no toilets. You need a self-sufficient motorhome, and have to drive 1 km to the service point to fill up with water and empty your tanks. At Chez Marcel, a night costs €16 to €24 for two (tourist tax extra), with electricity, water and waste disposal on the pitch, and the campsite showers 50 m away.

Sea or forest?

For the sea, Chez Marcel: La Gaillarde beach is a 1-minute walk away. From Collobrières, allow 40 minutes by road to the nearest beach; on the other hand, the Maures hiking trails start from the village, and La Verne charterhouse is 20 minutes away.

How long are you staying?

In Collobrières, parking is limited to 7 days. At Chez Marcel, there is no maximum stay: one night or several weeks, all year round, at €16 a night from October to mid-December.
