Ramatuelle’s municipal aire, on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, has 112 pitches just behind Pampelonne beach: €22 a night in season, €13 in winter, but no electricity, no toilets, no showers, and 4 days at most. The Chez Marcel aire, in Les Issambres, has 14 pitches facing La Gaillarde beach: €16 to €24 a night for two, electricity, water and waste disposal included, with the campsite’s toilet blocks and facilities, and no limit on your stay.

The two aires are about 33 km apart, a 45-minute drive. Ramatuelle is on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez; Les Issambres is on the French Riviera, between Sainte-Maxime and Fréjus: two different stopovers rather than two neighbours.

In season, prices are close: €22 in Ramatuelle, tourist tax included, €20 to €24 at Chez Marcel, tourist tax extra. The difference is what the price covers: at Chez Marcel, electricity, showers and the campsite’s facilities. In winter, Ramatuelle is cheaper: €13 a night.

Is your motorhome self-sufficient?

In Ramatuelle it needs to be: no electric hook-up, no toilets, no showers. At Chez Marcel, 6 A electricity is included and the campsite’s toilet blocks are 50 m away.

How many nights?
